In week-end - Green...

This week-end I'll be among friends in Green Hours. It would be nice if you would like to come.

I've started working on the autumn collection, and of course few pieces of this collection will be on display at the fair.

Last shopping session before autumn...

This week-end I'll be in Bucharest, at Sutu Palace near the University, for I Love Handmade fair - 8th edition, waiting you with the latest summer jewelry.

You can bet there will be new and fresh ones. Just to get your attention, a new lariant, very long one, about one and a half meter, with corals at both ends, in blue and multicolored seed beads.

I love the vase in the last pic. I have it from Arges, from Iulia's mother, along with a pair of very nice candlesticks. She got my daisy bracelet. :D

Too tired even to think I could share some impresions about the fair in Curtea de Arges. Just form the economic point of view it was one of the worse I had. But it was fun all th way, made new friends, find apreciation from the visitors, changed the hot air in Bucuharest with one a little more pure, visited the monestery and... celebrated my name day with friends.

New fair trip

In just few hours I'll be again on the road...Just dying to get out of the capital on these hot, hot days, this time it will be Curtea de Arges, so just before I go, let me show you some of the things I've made these days and I'll have with me there.

Here goes another butterfly, this time in black and gold.

One freeform bracelet, this time made wih porcelain beads and seed beads in one of my favorite color combination blue and copper.

One little wire crochet flower which I like very muh but I could not decide what to do with it.

And, last but not least my favorite bracelet, made with semipretious stones (jad and dalmatian jasper I guess - prize from one contest on CDB)

Changes and a celebration

This is my 200 post so this needs to be celebrated.

Well there's been a lot of change in my artistic life during the past month, so I didn't get much time to take picture of all the stuff created.

And right now I'm trying desperately to catch up and also to put thing in order and prepair for the next fair which will be in Curtea de Arges on 13-15 August. Here you can find the other artists and all the details.

I'm not going to cover all the news in just one post so i decided to let you all know that everything is fine, thank you, all went just wonderful in Vama Veche and in the Curtea Veche fair and for today to show you some of the NECKLACES I've already sold. Well the other part of the news is that the necklaces that are still available can be found on Crafty.ro, a very new online initiative i decided to give a try.

So, here are the gone necklaces:

1. Cleopatra - the 3rd of the series ( the 4th one, in diferent colors can be find in the store)

2. Leaves - some freeform leaves arangement with a leaf cabochon

3. Boulevard of broken ...wings - yet another butterfly from my family of butterflies. Really love it, and there are more to come.

Just to finish off in style, here is a new bracelet I've just made for the summer.

Lazy summer

I've been lazy, at least in posting new jewellery here, but I have a perfect excuse: just got back 3 days ago from Vama Veche and now starting to get things in order for the I Love handmade fair from Curtea Veche in Bucharest's old town. And yes, trying hard to revitalise my English, working already for the autumn collection and planning a trip to Curtea de Arges for the St. Mary fair.

All in all, I'll be waiting for you Saturday and Sunday in Curtea Veche near Hanul lui Manuc.

I'm back!

As I could not stay away from beads, as I imposed myself, I'm back! Back in business and back from Green Fair, which was, at least for me, a pretty good one with new friends and I also sold few of my works including the blue bells necklace.

And I also have good news: CDB named me the designer of the week. Yey!!! You can read my story here. And...with some luck in week-end I'll be at the seaside, in Vama Veche for the La Vie an Rose fair. So it is going to be an working-fun mini-holiday for me and hope to see some of you there.

My first international contest

Yes, I did it, I've entered my first international competition - Fashion Colorworks 2010 Beading Contest, but in order not to be influenced by anyone I prefered not to post anything here before the contest was finished. Well, I did not win, but, as you can see for yourself if you go here and click to see the full galery, the competition was huge. And if you like seed beads half the way I love them, there is plenty of things to see.

As for my part, here ar the entries. Prices will be available soon.

1. Brokenheart Beach Necklace

Used techniques: netting, twisted tubular herringbone, corralling

Used materials: seed beads, pink quartz pendant, mother of pearl natural shaped bead, 7 turquoise beads.

Brief beadwork description: the central part of the necklace is made of a big pink quartz heart pendant (pink quartz being the stone able to clear anger in love - the connection with the name of my piece), I also used few symbols of the beach such as the pink sea star captured by a fishing net (the white netted part), the corrals which are made in amparo blue (notice the color inversion – in nature the corrals are pale pink and the sea stars are more often close to the blue color – to suggest the fact that a brokenheart person sees the world in inverted colors).

2.French Lavender Candy Necklace


Used techniques: twisted tubular herringbone, brick, corralling


Used materials: seed beads, red corral beads, big glass bead, 2 crystal beads, 1 porcelain bead, veil scraps

Brief beadwork description: The porcelain bead covered in veil looks very much as a candy, also the central piece is fluid and very feminine due to the violet veil, the violet corral branch and also a little unpredictable because of the asymmetrical shape. I designated the necklace as a game of form and color, which brings in mind memories of France, sweets and lavender fields, all of them accompanied by a feminine look and the joy of living. The tomato puree of the corral beads, the violet of the veil and the corral and the fusion coral pink of the glass bead mix up to suggest the happy moments in life. So does the cord of the necklace made of seed beads of the same colors in twisted tubular herringbone.

3. Ode to Van Gogh Necklace

Used techniques: netting, corralling

Used materials: seed beads, Indian handmade glass beads, vintage button

Brief beadwork description: The base of the necklace is made in simple netting stitch with light green seed beads and covered with more then 30 different leaves made also in netted stitch and grey (eucalyptus) seed beads and corral braches in grey and dried herb to suggest the natural beauty of the field with only one big sunflower as the central part of the necklace. For a truly natural look of the beaded field I added few green Indian handmade glass beads to suggest green berries. The sunflower is made of netted aurora (yellow with a little touch of orange) petals and a vintage button in the middle. I named the piece Ode to Van Gogh as the painter is one of my favorites and one of his best known paintings is Sunflowers, which celebrates the beauty of nature and life.

Ne mutăm în stradă

Cum tot a venit vara şi canicula, vă aştept cu căţel, purcel şi Rudotel (well, mai puţin ultimul, că nu suportă căldura şi mulţimea) pe Strada Arthur Verona. Când? De vineri până duminică. Mai multe citiţi aici.

Dacă vreţi să vedeţi cu ce ne-am pregătit şi ce a pus Rudotel în bagajul pentru târg, vă aştept să ne vizitaţi în una dintre aceste trei zile.

Pauză...

Cum toate lucrurile sunt frumoase dacă sunt în cantităţi mici, am decis că e momentul să iau o pauză de la blog şi o pauză de mărgelit.

Acestea fiind zise, să trec acum la câteva detalii tehnice:

- dacă vă place ceva din ceea ce vedeţi mai jos puteti să îmi daţi un mail (îl găsiţi la profil-contact) şi încercăm să rezolvăm cumva problema (fie vă trimit bijuteria prin poştă, fie ne întâlnim personal), în măsura în care produsul mai este disponibil.

- pentru perioada următoare, este posibil să mă mai găsiţi la unul sau două târguri prin frumoasa noastră Capitală.

- blogul rămâne deschis la comentarii aşa că feel free to comment if you like.

- pentru "fetele cu mărgele" cu care am devenit prietenă de-a lungul ultimilor ani, sunt oricând la dispoziţie pe mail şi ceva mai rar, dar sunt, pe mess.

- blogul este termporar închis, adică nu voi mai posta, dar rămâne vizibil pentru oricine, iar comenzile vor fi acceptate numai prin mail si dacă sunt ferme (în sensul că ştiţi foarte clar ce anume doriţi).


Pentru a face despărţirea mai uşoară am să vă arat şi ultima mea creaţie, o broşă la care am lucrat două zile şi cu care particip la concursul iniţiat de Clubul Designerilor de Bijuterii: o floare de orhidee din mărgele ceheşti lila şi aurii, cu o perlă naturală şi un fluturaş din mărgele Delica negre şi roşii (multumesc Mica, după cum vezi au ajuns pe mâini bune!). De ce o orhidee? Pentru că este (a fost, în urmă cu ceva vreme) floarea mea preferată (mai ales în perioada liceului) şi pentru că îmi aminteşte de vremurile alea şi de colegul meu de bancă de atunci şi pentru că el îmi oferea orhidee.

Brăţări, brăţări...

I have a thing pentru brăţări, uneori... şi pentru herringbone şi pentru sârma cu memorie. Iar atunci când lucrez la ceva greu, greu de tot şi mă chinui să ajung la forma pe care o doresc, las piesa deoparte şi produc o brăţară herringbone. Bine, la performanţa de a produce mai mult de una pe zi nu am ajuns încă, dar îmi plac aşa de mult, încât nu mă pot opri să nu le fac. Şi a mai fost şi mania lansată de Andra cu brăţările tubulare, aşa că nu m-am putut abţine să nu fac şi vreo două din alea. Pe scurt, în ultimul timp s-au adunat multe brăţări, aşa că azi a venit momentul să vi le prezint: my little relaxation bracelet collection.

1 iunie... de criză

Rămăsesem datoare cu câteva imagini cu animăluţele din fimo cu care am participat la târgul de la MŢR şi cu câteva impresii despre târg. Din păcate, în poze apar numai "drăcuşorii" care mi-au rămas.







Despre târg nu am foarte multe de spus. Copilaşii au apreciat animăluţele, care s-au şi vândut în număr destul de mare, vremea a fost din nou oribilă, dar deja m-am obişnuit să fie aşa la târgurile la care merg. În rest, atmosfera deja obişnuită, cunoştinţe mai vechi sau mai noi, lumea care se plânge de criză şi de vânzări scuzute din pricina crizei.
